The Expert Service usually breaks down into two stages:
Scan, Evaluation & Recommendation: this is a fixed fee stage to identify the problems, issues and opportunities - and then to recommend the best Action plan with indicative budgets, timescales and operational/management implications. You may want to proceed using your own people, or involve our Expert in the next stage.
Action: this stage is all about implementation. Our Expert’s role is entirely dependent on what is required – and what he or she can best do for you. It may mean managing the whole process, or just observing from the sidelines.
It’s all about what works best for your business.
You know that most experts want to get their heads down as quickly as possible. They want to get into the nitty-gritty - and they are not terribly interested in the wider issues.
Not our Experts! Our Heads Up approach to problems means that they consider the wider needs of your business.
They assess whether the problem is actually about financial systems - or that staff don't take responsibility for optimising your business' cash flow? Could the problem be solved faster and cheaper by training?
Is the problem lack of marketing effectiveness - or that your products are no longer as competitive?
Our Experts are as good as anybody else's experts (better, we think!), but by understanding your business better, they can certainly deliver more effective solutions for your business.
And that means you get better value for money.
The “philosophy” behind our Expert Services is exactly the same as our Directors’ Services – but our Experts exclusively focus on one particular area of your business that needs moving forward.
The areas we specialise in are IT, online business development, finance, marketing and sales, although we can sometimes help with other specialist areas as well.
So what’s different about that? Why not call in an IT consultant? Here’s the difference: our Experts think about the problem, not just the solution. Tell an IT consultant your system is not fit for purpose, and he’ll recommend another one.
Ask one of our IT Experts, and he’ll ask you why is it not fit for purpose? What is its “purpose”? And where is your business going? What might you need the system to do in 3-5 years time?
In other words, he’ll look at your IT problem in the whole context of your business – what it does and where it’s going.
Understanding that, he might recommend a “quick fix” rather than a whole new system. He may recommend training so your staff can use the system more effectively. He might even suggest that adding an extra sales person will deliver better value than a new IT system.
It’s what we call a Heads Up approach to problems (where most people have a Heads Down mentality).
